About K9 Chaperone

K9 Chaperone was established in 2015, about a year after our first black German Shepherd joined our family.

It started out as just two friends sitting around a table thinking how we could help give our fellow K9 lovers the chance to walk through life with confidence, feeling safe and secure. And over the course of a year, it became K9 Chaperone, a training programme that not only provides you with your own black shepherd which comes from a reputable German Shepherd breeder but teaches your K9 obedience and basic social skills, while providing extra security and companionship.

It is especially suited to people living alone or who simply need some added reassurance. Your K9 will become your full time chaperone – hence the name.

Because we understand how busy life can be these days and how training and having a pup in your house is a mammoth task to take on along with everything else, K9 Chaperone do the hard work for you. As it is your K9’s most fundamental learning period, we’ll lay the foundations down over the first year of their life, and then you can take over and welcome a new member to your family.

To provide the best K9 chaperone suited to you, your K9 will be:

  • Fully vaccinated
  • Nationally micro chipped
  • Neutered
  • House trained
  • Crate trained
  • Trained in basic obedience commands they will:
    - come
    - sit
    - down
    - stay/wait
    - heel
    - leave
  • Be socialised
  • Equipped to go to their forever home with:
    - Bedding
    - Collar and lead
    - Food bowl
    - Water bowl

And because your K9 Chaperone will be beside you at all times, we’ll make sure their temperament is individually matched to suit your personality.
